my immigration application goes off in the mail tomorrow, and i just paid citizenship and immigration canada over $1500.

please keep your fingers (and toes!) crossed for me.

if you ever were a phish phan, wanted to be one, or wondered what the hell those crazy hippies found in that music, check out this month's relix. unforunately, nothing is available online, just a link to the 'subcribe to relix page'...but it's a pretty sweet music magazine. got a steal $10/year subscription (even to canada! woo!) at bonnaroo...anyways, it's a fitting tribute, in my opinion, to a band that helped move and shape how i see the world...

IT'S BACK!!

festivus has returned
. well, the ICFKAF - ice cream formerly known as festivus. it's now yule fuel. yup, i could do to eat that and only that until christmas.

i am SO EXCITED.

but, i'm not so excited that ben and jerry's is at least $5 a pint here in canada. :( hmm...need to drive to states to smuggle carloads of ice cream...really, mr. border patrol, i NEED THIS ICE CREAM. you don't understand...

haha. fortunately, i already have a canadian...though we're not getting married any time soon, i'm able to apply for permanent residency because we've been living together for the past year....

canadian boys rock. :)

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

got our first snowfall here yesterday. it was glorious! only a little dusting, though. quite exciting. my classmates think i am nuts, though, being giddy about the cold white stuff falling from the sky. it's still new to me, different, and i love it. kinda like walking though the grass in the fall and hearing the leaves crunch beneath your feet. things i just never experienced where i grew up. now, some may argue that they would love a life where they didn't have to experience raking leaves and icy windshields, but i think the change is good. forces you to shake things up a bit, do things differently. and as long as you dress for it, the cold is great! :)

mind you, while i was out running in zero degree temperatures (that's celcius. i'm in canada, eh?) and listening to the reports of impending snow, i ran past a guy in shorts and a tshirt.

um, brr!!

Wednesday, November 3

shit.

my immigrations papers are almost ready to be sent off...thank god for canada. i have a feeling i won't have to do much explaining anymore as to why i am an american who much prefers canada. it's hard to explain, but i never felt proud of my country...but i do feel proud to live in canada. i love it here. it feels like home.

america: no longer the land of the free, but the land of the rich white man. (hmm, i guess it's really always been that way...) with us or against us - what are they going to do with the whole world against them?

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

tomorrow will change the world. it's a funny feeling, thinking that - wondering, waiting, watching. a nation divided will choose its leader. one who some consider to be the leader of the free world - but that is chosen by only one country's votes. it will be a powerful day.

please vote.
